KPDA Management
The management of the Association lies in the KPDA Board of Directors. The Board comprises of the Chairman; Vice-Chairman; Secretary; Treasurer and three other Directors who are elected into office every two years during the Association’s Annual General Meetings. The Association has a permanent secretariat managed by a Chief Executive Officer

Ken Luusa
Chairman
Ken graduated from the University of Aberdeen, (Scotland) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Land Economics in 1990. He joined a leading International firm of Chartered Surveyors and worked in the property management department of the firm’s Aberdeen Office where he was responsible for the firm’s client portfolio in the North East of Scotland. Prior to joining Acorn Group, he was the Regional Chief Executive Officer of Property Development and Management Ltd (PDM), an Aga Khan Development Network Company where he was responsible for managing and developing the organization’s commercial property portfolio in East Africa.
Anne Wakonyo Muchiri
Treasurer
Anne is a founding director of KPDA and is the Convenor of the KPDA Institutional Strengthening Committee.
She is the Managing Director of Rozana Properties Ltd, a company engaged in the development and sale of residential homes.
Anne is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
Hamish Govani
Board Director
Hamish is the Executive Director of Lantana Homes. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, ACGI and a Masters in Business Administration. Hamish has diverse experience in real estate development and has overseen several construction projects in the country.
Caroline Karugu
Board Director
Caroline is a Partner in the Real Estate and Finance department of Ashitiva Advocates and focuses mainly on property law, property development work, real estate financing, property joint ventures and structuring of mixed-use developments. She has handled a variety of property transactions including, the structuring of property joint ventures, property acquisitions, residential and mixed-use projects, large-scale commercial retail leasing, property management contracts and securities.

Caroline Kihara
Board Director
Caroline has been the Head of Mortgage Sales at KCB Bank since 2015. She has over 15 years’ experience in Real Estate Financing; 10 of which has been in Senior management level specializing in SME/ Business Banking, Corporate Banking, Microfinance Banking as well as Mortgage Finance banking. She has worked at the United Bank of Africa (UBA – Kenya Ltd), Standard Chartered Bank, Equity Bank, Housing Finance and at the Kenya Women Finance Trust.
Caroline is part of KCB Women in Leadership Network (WILN).
She is a member of the KPDA Affordable Housing Task Force, the KPDA Membership and Outreach Committee as well as the KPDA Institutional Strengthening Committee.
Alex Waiharo Kinuthia
Board Director
Alex is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jabez Properties, a real estate development business which focuses on the construction and sale of quality, affordable residential properties. He has worked for several years in the Information Technology (IT) industry before joining the real estate sector and has diverse experience both in the implementation of IT based business systems and real estate development.
Alex holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering from the University of Nairobi and a Masters degree in Construction Management from the same institution. He currently serves as a member of the KPDA Public Policy and Advocacy Committee.
Zoravar Singh
Board Director
Zoravar Singh is a Director of iJenga, an integrated real estate development and investment company. Zoravar also serves as a Director of the Kenya Property Developers Association where he Chairs the Affordable Housing Task Force.
Previously, Zoravar served as General Manager for Agriculture at Equity Group Foundation, CEO of Community Lab with The Earth Institute at Columbia University, where he focused on health systems and integrated development in developing countries, and real estate investment banker. Zoravar started his career as a management and technology consultant at Accenture.
Zoravar received a Bachelors of Commerce in Operations Management from the University of Alberta and a Masters of Business Administration in real estate and finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Shiv Arora
Board Director
Shiv is the Chief Executive Officer at Superior Homes Kenya (PLC), East Africa’s leading residential master-planned real estate developer. His work experience spans across the real estate development and financial services sectors respectively, in Investment Banking, Global Wealth Management, and Fund Management, gained with Citibank, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Britam Asset Managers, Cytonn Investments, and Superior Homes Kenya, respectively. Key focus areas include (I) Mergers & Acquisitions, private market transactions, and deal structuring, (ii) real estate investment and development, and (iii) investment analysis and fund management.
He is a Bachelor of Science Graduate in Economics from the University of Warwick
Michael Kaniu
Board Director
Michael is a Business Executive with over 28 years of experience in Africa and the USA who has the ability to work effectively at all levels in organizations, manage change and exceed commercial profit targets.
Prior to forming his own real estate company, Natureville Homes, Michael has worked in Engineering Companies in USA and Kenya in engineering design for buildings.
He held director-level roles in blue-chip multi-national Software Companies like Sybase, Microsoft and SAP. Michael holds an MBA from Leicester University, UK, and an Applied Science degree in Engineering from ITT Technical Institute based in Seattle, USA. In addition, he holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing..
Samuel Kariuki
Board Director
Samuel Kariuki is a senior Business, Finance, and Investment Executive, with over 19 years of experience in Corporate Leadership, Finance & Investment and Audit. He is the current Chief Executive Officer at Mi Vida Homes. Before joining Mi Vida, he was the Managing Director at Centum Real Estate. He holds an MSc in Finance (Economic Policy) from the University of London, an MBA in Strategic Planning from Heriot-Watt University, an undergraduate degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, a Certificate in Construction Management from the University of Cape Town and an Engineering degree from Moi University. He has served on various boards, as a shareholder representative, including Longhorn Publishers Ltd, Centum Real Estate Limited and Almasi Beverages Limited, a Coca-Cola bottler. He is a Fellow of the ACCA, member of the Information Systems Audit & Control Association, Inc. (ISACA) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). When he is not thinking of real estate investments, Samuel is an ardent mountaineer and supports small-scale farmers in rural Kenya to improve on agronomy and access markets.
Raghav Gandhi
Board Director
Raghav Gandhi is the Chief Executive Officer for Africa Logistics Properties and is in charge of the strategic direction as well as the management of the organization. He is an experienced real-estate professional with a proven track record of delivering results globally across asset classes. He has been working in Kenya since 2020 when he arrived to establish Africa’s first real estate investment trusts (REITs), dedicated to purpose-built student accommodation. He subsequently managed the REITs, raising equity capital of approximately $50mn from a development finance institution and local institutional investors. He was also responsible for securing $100mn in debt from banks and through Kenya’s first green bond. Previously, he has jointly led the growth of a major commercial real estate start-up venture in India and headed the development of projects across the MENA region for a major real estate developer in Kuwait, where he was also responsible for optimizing returns from a number of underperforming investments. He subsequently established his own consulting practice, which advised GCC families and corporates on real estate transactions and projects in the UK and the Middle East. Raghav holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Sciences in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Stella Mutai
Board Director
Stella Mutai is the Head of Mortgage Business at HFC, has vast experience in Real Estate lending, Green Financing, Diaspora, Banking, Mortgage Product Development & Management. She holds an MBA in Strategic Management and an Undergraduate Degree in Bachelor of Arts – Communications- Public Relations from the Daystar University. Certificate in Housing Finance Course for South Saharan Africa at University of Cape town, and other Real Estate & Marketing courses. She is responsible for Building a profitable Mortgage and Commercial property book at HFC that offers the best solution in the market to Corporate, Retail and Businesses Banking Customers. She joined HFC from NCBA where she was responsible for establishing Property Finance and Diaspora Banking department at CBA formerly Commercial Bank of Africa, which have been proudly adopted at NCBA Group. Stella is a member of the Kenya Institute of Management, Women in Real Estate (WIRE), and Women on Board Network (WOBN). Currently, she serves as a Board Member of Nyumba Regulated Non –WDT SACCO, and active committee member of the KPDA Affordable Housing Task force and the Institutional Strengthening Committee. She is a Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) Certified Trustee.

KPDA members are encouraged to play a more active role in the Association by getting involved in leadership opportunities.

Established at the beginning of 2017, the aim of the KPDA Affordable Housing Task Force is to clearly demonstrate what the private sector can do and propose ways in which the government (and its relevant agencies) can be engaged to bridge the housing gap in Kenya.

The Public Policy and Advocacy Committee is committed to ensuring that KPDA impacts the industry through engagement on policy issues and becomes the most reputable body for the advocacy of real estate issues. This committee is embraced closely to the KEPSA Lands, Physical Planning and Housing Sector Board.
Mandates:
1. Ensures that KPDA enhances the business environment that KPDA members are operating in;
2. Engaged in increased advocacy for issues facing members;
3. Ensures focused engagement with policy makers;
4. Ensures increased knowledge on priority areas of advocacy and best approaches;
5. Facilitates increased dissemination of research findings and KPDA’s main areas of focus;
6. Facilitates increased capacity of KPDA to conduct impactful advocacy by increased engagement with like minded organizations, associations and institutions.

The main aim of the Membership and Outreach Committee is to develop KPDA to be the most relevant association for property developers and other players in the real estate sector. This committee supports the secretariat by maintaining active members by organizing vibrant and active activities and events as well as increasing membership numbers.

1. Enhance value and service to members through increased networking and opportunities for members;
2. Facilitate increased diversity (amongst members) and increased number of members;
3. Organize increased training opportunities for members;
4. Enhance brand visibility, authority and respectability of KPDA through increased number of industry players and members of the public aware of and well informed about KPDA;
5. Ensure increased number of industry players, clients and members of the public looking up to KPDA for leadership and guidance;
6. Ensure KPDA members are differentiated in the market as superior developers;
7. Build a national footprint for KPDA.
